One of our latest productions was a music film for Lovo Films and the European Union, starring Peruvian artist Renata Flores. GoPeru Films provided complete production support in Peru, including permits, logistics, crew, locations and technical production, while also assembling the entire camera package for the shoot.

The project was captured on an ARRI Alexa Mini 4:3 with the ARRIRAW Full License, complemented by a Fujinon Alura 45–250mm zoom as part of the production’s lens package, along with a complete cinema support package tailored to the project’s creative and technical requirements.

Before principal photography, we worked alongside the production team during the camera test, fine-tuning the camera package and ensuring every technical detail was ready for the shoot.

Every accessory, wireless video system, monitoring solution, grip component and lighting package was planned and coordinated alongside the production team, ensuring every department had exactly what it needed throughout the shoot.

Nothing was left to chance.

GoPeru Films assists international productions with the temporary import of professional equipment into Peru, coordinating customs documentation and local logistics so your gear arrives, works and leaves the country without unnecessary complications.

Peru and the ATA Carnet

Peru is a member of the ATA Carnet system, allowing productions from participating countries to temporarily import professional equipment without paying import duties, provided the equipment leaves the country after filming.

If your production is traveling with an ATA Carnet, we’ll guide you through the process before your arrival and coordinate everything locally to ensure a smooth customs process.

If your country isn’t part of the ATA Carnet system, we can also advise you on the appropriate temporary import procedures available in Peru.

TAQUILE ISLAND, PUNO

Taquile is, without a doubt, one of the most magical locations we’ve ever filmed in. There’s something about it that’s almost hard to explain. It’s mesmerizing, breathtaking… and incredibly still.

From the moment you arrive, sailing across Lake Titicaca, you feel it. The pace shifts. The noise disappears. As you walk up toward the village, locals welcome you with muña leaves (a gesture that helps you breathe, adjust, and take it all in).

Time moves differently here. And without even noticing, you start moving with it.

We’ve filmed commercials in Taquile that needed more than just a beautiful backdrop. Something human, something real. And that’s what this place gives you. It holds the story in a very quiet, powerful way.

It’s one of those places we always want to come back to.

SACRED VALLEY, CUSCO

Filming in Cusco is a privilege. There’s history in every corner, not just something you see, but something you feel.

And then there’s the Sacred Valley.

For us, it’s one of the most special places to produce in Peru. The scale, the energy, the variety of landscapes… you can move just a short distance and find a completely different world.

We’ve seen stories unfold here in a very natural way. A character arrives searching for something, and little by little, something shifts. The mountains don’t just sit in the background, they hold that journey.

It’s the kind of place where transformation feels believable. Where a brand story can feel elevated without trying too hard.

PARACAS, ICA

Paracas always surprises us.

There’s a moment, every time, when the desert opens up and suddenly meets the ocean. It feels like you’ve landed somewhere else entirely.

That contrast is what makes it so powerful.

We’ve filmed everything here: fashion films, music videos, branded content, reality formats. The dunes, the textures, the light, and especially the wind… it brings movement into every frame.

It’s also incredibly accessible from Lima, which makes it very production-friendly without losing impact.

IQUITOS, LORETO

Iquitos is one of the most immersive locations you can film in, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

The Amazon is alive in every sense. The sound, the colors, the density… everything surrounds you. From a production standpoint, it’s absolutely manageable with the right team and planning, and that’s where we come in.

We know how to navigate it, how to adapt to it, and how to make it work for the story without losing control of the production.

And creatively, it gives you something very hard to replicate. Projects take on a different intensity here. Performances feel more visceral. The environment becomes part of the narrative.

CANTA, LIMA

Just a few hours from Lima, everything changes.

Canta is one of those places we keep coming back to, and every time, it gives us something new. There’s something quietly powerful about it. Something cinematic in a very raw, honest way.

The town itself feels like it’s waiting for a story. You can almost see a different time unfolding there, a period piece, something suspended between past and present.

And as you keep driving up, the landscape opens into mountains, lagoons and lots of llamas and vicuñas.

We’ve filmed commercials and branded content here, and it’s always breathtaking. It’s accessible, versatile, and visually strong.

But more than anything, it feels like an escape.

What can you shoot here?
A road movie that starts in the city and slowly drifts away. A commercial that needs nature without going too far and highs ways surrounded by mountains.

But there’s another UNESCO world heritage site you may not have heard of that is just as mythical as Wadi Rum: and that’s the Paracas nature reserve in Ica, Southern Peru. Beautifully undiscovered, kissed with heat, with a track of only two motion pictures being filmed there (Source: IMDB), Paracas remains a hidden gem, an impressive title in the age of the internet, of obsessive discovery and e-tourism.

I have been to Paracas many times, but each time is like the first. The landscape is so quiet, you can hear nothing but your own laboured exhales. All that exists is stretches of angelic sand, rugged coast, lapping ocean and blue sky. Drive five minutes and the sand is lost: there’s only ocean. Drive another five, and you’ll see a plethora of natural wildlife. The beauty of Paracas (and indeed, Peru) lies within its diversity, its breadth of landscape, which makes it completely different to any country you may have visited before. Even deep in the desert sections of the Paracas reserve, there’s boundless pink lake, rugged coast, boats drifting across perfect, dark blue sea. You can sail between the islands and stare at sea lions and penguins. Each time I step foot in Paracas I experience fresh, acerbic wonder, disbelief. How has no one made a major movie in Paracas? How is it humanly possible that a landscape so diverse, so different, so rich, could be neglected on the screen? If Wadi Rum has been immortalised for its red sand and sandstone rock, how has Paracas not yet been locked into film history for its siltstone, pink ink granodiorite, swathes of ancient, Palaeozoic rock?

It may be the case that Paracas remains unexplored on film because it is a well-kept secret: not enough people in the right places know it exists, and perhaps the ones that do believe it to be inaccessible. It’s no surprise that filmmakers prefer familiar landscapes like Wadi Rum, where the path is well-trodden and the permits have been obtained a hundred times before.

But what’s film without risk?

Don’t we want more? Isn’t the point of making art to be diverse, unwavering, adventurous? To explore?

It remains to be seen whether Paracas will receive its flowers; whether some half-blind, determined filmmaker with a big budget and magnetic sphere of influence will come to Ica and burn Paracas into cinematic history, but perhaps this article will push someone into the right direction. Paracas is easily accessible, a short coach ride from Lima, Peru’s capital city.
